Children’s Ministry

  • Preschool: We have 20-25 wee ones each Sunday in our infant, toddler and preschool rooms. You can sign up to help in the infant room one week a month, or in the toddler and preschool rooms for a whole month each quarter. We ask our volunteers to either help during the Sunday school hour or during the worship service. Contact Lisa Dombrowski for more information.
  • KidZone: We have 40+ children each Sunday in KidZone and need lots of helpers to make it happen! You can sign up for anything from desk helper to tech support to small group leader. Contact Christy Jones for more information.

4Twelve Student Ministry

  • Sunday School teachers: We have middle school and high school classes for our youth during Sunday school. Our teachers typically sign up for at least 2 Sundays a month.
  • 4Twelve teachers: We have 2 teachers each week for our main youth group lesson, one for middle schoolers and one for high schoolers. They are responsible to teach during youth group twice a month.
  • Small Group leaders: After the main lesson, our 4 small group leaders lead the small group discussion for our middle school and high school groups. We split up into guys and girls for each age group.

Van Ministry

Volunteer for our van ministry on Sunday mornings and evenings to pick up children and youth from the Olde Forge neighborhood. SCCC’s van ministry is unique in how it engages across and enables the entire breadth of the outreach and service that SCCC provides for its congregation and the local community.  The van ministry provides critical transportation for attending ministry events, youth conferences, scouting activities, and bringing children to the church who otherwise would not be able to attend.  SCCC Van Driver volunteers are critical in keeping the many ministries of SCCC thriving and moving forward. The Van Ministry’s flexible nature allows its volunteers are able to be serve as much or as little as they are able and work around their schedules. Click to contact our van ministry team to sign up.

First Impressions

Our greeters play an important role every Sunday morning by welcoming visitors and church members. They help direct visitors to Sunday school and KidZone, they answer questions about church ministries and areas to serve, and they pass out bulletins. If you’d like to be a part of this crucial ministry, please contact Dan See.

S.E.R.V.E. Food Drive

SCCC has two Food Drives a year in spring and fall. Please check the SCCC events calendar for upcoming scheduled dates. SCCC’s food drives support our local S.E.R.V.E Food Bank which is always in great need. S.E.R.V.E. has been providing food and assistance to families since 1979. On average, S.E.R.V.E provides nearly 95 tons of food to over 3,000 families annually and SCCC’s help is greatly needed. If interested or led to take advantage of this great opportunity, please contact Robert Rowland (cw2rowla(at)hotmail.com / 540-446-1149). The next food drives will be held October 12 and 19. Sign up to volunteer here.
