My greatest accomplishments in life are marrying my college sweetheart and having two beautiful children. My wife is the driving force in my life and she has served alongside me in many areas of ministry; without her support I would not be the man God has called me to be. I am and will always be forever grateful for her sacrifice and passion that allows me to serve Him in amazing ways.
The philosophy of ministry God has called me to is one of emphasizing Preaching/Teaching, Discipleship, and Outreach. I believe the purpose of the church is twofold: to seek and save the lost, and to teach and equip her members. My personal ministry should aide in the mission God has called his church. I believe through relevant, engaging, Scripture-based messages and by intentionally designing ministries that lead people towards discipleship it will create Christ followers who grow closer to Jesus and reach out to the broken who have not encountered the power of the Cross.
Director of Children’s Ministries
I praise God for my mother and grandmother and the Christian environment they provided in my youth. Their strong faith in God was always evident; their witness was an important part of my personal decision for Christ while growing up in Florida. I am so thankful that God has blessed me with a wonderful family; I have two amazing children and a loving husband. Each of them volunteers for service at church, while also providing support to my efforts in ministry. Our family started attending Stafford County Christian Church in 2005 and we knew right away that SCCC was our church home.
I was a volunteer teacher for the Kindergarten and First Grade class before accepting the honor of becoming Director of Children’s Ministries in 2008. My ministry focuses on teaching children about the sacrificial love of Jesus and partnering with parents to help grow their children spiritually. By combining efforts in these two areas, I believe we are equipping children to come to a better understanding of their need for a personal encounter with our savior, Jesus Christ.
Lorraine serves as our Administrative Assistant. She loves serving the church in this position and feels that this is her ministry. She served 4 years in the United States Navy and then attended Pierce College in Philadelphia where she earned her Associates Degree in Computer Science. She and her husband, Carl, have been attending SCCC for 20 years. They have three grown children, a son, Chris, and two daughters, Kathryn and Carolyn.
