We use the “252 Basics” curriculum during class on Sunday mornings. It's a wonderful, interactive program that teaches children biblical virtues and the basics of the Christian faith. Our schedule offers all children K-5th grade two hours of focused emphasis on the same curriculum topic, creating a synergy between 9:30 AM Sunday School and Kid’s Church at 10:30 AM.
Children’s Events
We plan a lot of fun and exciting events throughout the year for all the elementary-age kids . These special events allow children to build friendships, support spiritual growth, and get to know other families in the church. Pool parties, bowling outings, and fun days at the church are among many of the activities we use to encourage fellowship and sharing. Each year we take pre-teens (4th and 5th graders) to a weekend conference called "Ground Zero" This summer we held a fitness camp - a week-long evening program that taught good fitness skills and nutritional habits with associated Bible lessons.
Trunk and Treat
The elementary department organizes an outreach activity each year on Halloween night. The adults and children collaborate to put on a "trunk and treat" program in the parking lot of Park Ridge Elementary School in North Stafford. Some 20-30 cars converge on the scene with decorated trunks, candy, free food and drinks for the public. This year's program is entitled "Light the Night"as we seek to bring Jesus' light into the community in a big way.
